the hatred for hifumi yamada makes me so sad because while he does suffer from the fate of Being Written By Kodaka i really do believe that he is such a fun silly character and that most people just don’t like him because he’s ‘ugly’. he’s a selfshipper and his fictional gf is a fat magical girl. he used to be a dick but decided to become a kinder person after said fictional girlfriend appeared to him in a dream one time. he’s a fucking FANFIC AUTHOR. the ULTIMATE FANFIC AUTHOR. he calls makoto ‘mr. naegi!’ for no real reason and it is very charming. he randomly breaks out into a goofy narrator voice sometimes just Because. he’s very confident in himself and has a lot of friends in his fandom circles because he’s cool and a great writer/artist and he knows both of these things. he knows what yaoi is and mentions it to makoto in school mode. he got so pissed off by the thought of someone sexually assaulting celeste he immediately agreed to murder them. hifumi

i've seen people calling locke hot and that 'he's so hot idc what he did' but those people also view taryn as the devil incarnate for betraying jude 😭 like girl i also dislike how taryn betrayed jude in the wicked king etc but i hate locke way more. he literally manipulated taryn, betrayed cardan, used nicasia to hurt cardan, ( tbh i don't really care abt nicasia but he used her to hurt cardan ) and tried to kill jude? but the 17 year old human girl trying to survive — ya okay. John Walker, no one can make me hate you.

Is he perfect? No, obviously not. But that’s what makes him such a great character. Whether he was ready for it or not, he was given the shield, the very mantle of not just Captain America, but of Steve Rogers.

And in the end, he wasn’t fit enough to be a representative of that, and like many other soldiers he was swept under the rug by the government.

He was never going to be the perfect Captain America, because he was never going to be Steve. With his first uniform he exceeded all expectations, was a perfect soldier in every way, smart, strong and a respectable leader but with the Captain America uniform, he couldn’t measure up to the expectations we as an audience had of him. He’s immediately written off by Bucky and Sam because they’re upset that some other random guy is parading the shield around in a way they didn’t think was fitting of John’s predecessor, they’re best friend. He was trying his best to be someone he wasn’t.

It was clear he had demons but he was not a bad man, he was a broken one. He was morally grey like a lot of other Marvel characters (characters who have done a lot worse). The Avengers themselves have been targets of hate and doubt by their community, that was the entire basis of Civil War. In the end, no one is safe from the consequences of their own actions. The whole world watched John Walkers’ worst moment, but what about the things the other Avengers did when the cameras were not rolling? Does it lessen their mistakes or make their own hearts less heavy? Or does it really just depend on how untouchable they are? On how much pull they already have with the people and community around them.

As Zemo said, there has never been another Steve Rogers. I just hope that in this new movie John gets redemption and can grow into his own person without the burden of expectations from someone he can never compare to.

I'm probably getting a ton of hate for saying this, but I personally do think it's pretty wild that the Dwampyverse Tumblr community I'm part of, completely prohibits any kind of Ferbnessa content, with literally nothing else but a "this doesn't need an explanation" blurb, yet it gives Perryshmirtz a free pass (because "it's a recognized subset in the fandom"), so long as it's being "kept on the same level as the show".

But I mean, why can't we allow Ferbnessa on the same conditions? Ferbnessa has always been a canonical part of the show, and the way they treated it was fine, IMO. Are we really treating an age gap as sacrilege and a worse offense than z**ph***a? Are people so afraid that they think that the age gap is potential (and unconfirmed) p***ph***a or gr***ing, that they find potential b****ality more acceptable?

I find the hypocrisy about this gatekeeping nonsense just a bit weird.

There's also this weird rule about keeping AYA content to a minimum because "too many people hate it". And? So many people also hate how Doofenshmirtz has practically taken over season 2 of Milo Murphy's Law, but there's no rule against that either (nor should there be one).
